Podcasts for Book Lovers

There were over 1 million new books published in 2018. Wow, that's an astounding number of possible great reads. How do you find a great book for you? One of my favorite methods is by tuning in to podcasts.

The Book Review Podcast by the NY Times is the best of the best in my mind. One hour plus of talking about books, with one or more author interviews, and a round table discussion of what each reviewer is reading right now. This podcast comes out every Friday.

The Amazon Book Review podcast is a great way to keep up with new books. This podcast averages 30 minutes and covers five or six new releases.

I really like One Great Book because it is only 10 minutes and about a single book. Ann Bogel hosts this program solo, which eliminates the non-book banter between hosts. Anne Bogel also hosts a podcast called "What Should I Read Next?"

I Found This Great Book is a podcast and website dedicated to helping readers of diverse stories find their next book to read. The podcast includes interviews with authors of all genres. You will also want to check out the website www.ifoundthisgreatbook.com, which has reviews of other great books.

Get the ultimate insider's scoop on the best new books. The editors at Kirkus Reviews interview your favorite authors, tell you whether or not the books on the bestseller list are worth the read, give you behind-the-scenes insights, and introduce you to great books you may otherwise never find.

For a larger list of podcasts about books visit the library's readers advisory page. To learn about podcasts go to the What is a podcast? and How to listen to podcasts blog posts by Librarian Megan Fenton. There are over 350,000 podcast shows available on a very wide variety of topics from politics to cooking to religion to relationships to technology to science, etc., so if book reviews aren't your cup of tea, there is another podcast for out there for you too!.
