Technology: Computer Mouse and Keyboarding

The mouse is considered an important device for navigating on the World Wide Web and finding files on your computer. The computer mouse is an alternative way to interact with the computer besides a keyboard. A typical mouse has two buttons. At the top of the device you will find a left and right button which allows for “clicks.” Sometimes there is a scrolling wheel between the two buttons.

Keyboarding Tips

Your fingers should be on the home row keys, which on a US keyboard are the A,S, D, and F with the left hand and J, K, L, and ; keys with the right hand. The more you type, the more familiar you are going to become with the computer keyboard, position of the keys, and how your hands should be positioned. Make sure your posture at the computer is good. For example, sit in the upright position with both feet flat on the floor and relax.
