Listing of Town Chambers of Commerce's in Westchester County - Chambers are membership-based organizations dedicated to promoting businesses in a given town. They can help a small business get exposure within the community it serves.

Industrial Development Agency (IDA) The County of Westchester IDA can be an important source of financial assistance to both existing businesses and those relocating.  A variety of incentives are available to corporations and small companies.

Non-Profit Westchester (NPW)  provides the nonprofit sector with a single unified voice for the role it plays in the economic vitality and sustainability of the county, focusing on sharing resources, connections, and information to strengthen Westchester in partnership with the for-profit and government sectors. The organization was launched in 2012 and represents more than 180 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations in the county under a cooperative mission to strengthen the impact, capacity and visibility of the nonprofit sector for a more just and caring community

SCORE Westchester is a nonprofit association dedicated to helping small businesses get off the ground, grow and achieve their goals through education and mentorship. 

Small Business Development Center (SBDC) provides expert management and technical assistance to start-ups and existing business across the state with emphasis on manufacturers, exporters and technology-oriented firms.

Westchester Business Journal - online edition of the local weekly news publication.  Good source of local business news, companies, executives, economic activity and business events

Women's Enterprise Development Center (WEDC) - the premier hub for women entrepreneurs in Westchester County and the Lower Hudson Valley providing training, advisory services and access to capital. (some events are free)

Westchester Networking for Professionals  - WNFP offers its members whether they are just starting out their business career or already established many ways to help them with their journey to success.

Skill UpYonkers - SkillUp® Yonkers is designed to help Yonkers build a workforce ecosystem that supports positive economic development. Job seekers can explore career pathways, view local job postings, register for free online learning, and receive workforce services. Employers can search for qualified candidates, post jobs, and receive in-depth consulting to address hiring and training needs.

Launch1000 - Free Program Offered By Westchester County Office of Economic Development. Launch1000 is a self-paced online program that offers 1000 county residents the opportunity to explore a business idea, determine its viability and launch a business. The program encompasses mindset training, customer discovery, product/market fit and other key topics. 

New York Business Express -  a comprehensive resource for starting, running, and growing a business in New York. 

Empire State Development (ESD) - New York's chief economic development agency. The mission of Empire State Development is to promote a vigorous and growing state economy, encourage business investment and job creation, and support diverse, prosperous local economies across New York State through the efficient use of loans, grants, tax credits, real estate development, marketing and other forms of assistance.

Division of Minority and Women's Business Development (DMWBD) - The mission of DMWBD is to promote equality of economic opportunities for MWBEs and to eliminate barriers to their participation in state contracts. 

New York State Small Business Development Center - assists small businesses and entrepreneurs with counseling, training, business research and other special programs

New York State Corporation and Business Entity Database - includes business and not-for-profit corporations, limited partnerships, limited liability companies and limited liability partnerships, as well as other miscellaneous businesses.

New York State Unified Court System: Ask a Librarian - The Ask a Law Librarian service is a remote legal reference service open to the general public. It is staffed by New York State Court System law library personnel from around the state and is intended to answer legal reference questions posed by the public.

USA.gov -“U.S. Government's official website for small businesses.” It provides a wealth of information on all small business topics.

U.S. Small Business Administration - This federal agency site provides among other things, a business start-up kit, financing and SBA loan information, links to numerous outside resources (private and state), online library reading room, and much, much more. 

Small Business Development Centers  - There are 900 sites around the country to assist small businesses and aspiring entrepreneurs. Many have websites linking users to reputable and quality resources when developing a small business plan. Researchers can also find information on franchising, demographics, industry information and more. Many also include tutorials on a variety of topics.

IRS Small Business & Self Employed Tax Center Whether you're a small business or a self-employed individual, being able to get your hands on sound, accurate tax rules and regulations and how they affect your business is critical.  This IRS website offers industry specific information and links to provide answers and guidance on common business tax questions.

Consumer Financial Protection Board - The CFPB was created to provide a single point of accountability for enforcing federal consumer financial laws and protecting consumers in the financial marketplace. CPFB offers tools, answers common questions, and provides tips that help consumers navigate their financial choices and shop for the deal that works best for them.
