Notary Service

A Notary Public is available on-site to assist with the notarization of documents.

Services Offered:

  • Verification of signatures on legal documents.
  • Witnessing signatures for affidavits, acknowledgements, and other official papers. 
  • Administering oaths and affirmations.

What You Need to Know: 

  • Available by request: Notary services are available upon request, no later 30 minutes before closing; please call ahead of time, a notary is not always available.
  • Bring Identification: A valid, government-issued photo ID is required for notarization.
  • Document Preparation: Please ensure all documents are completed, except for your signature, before arriving.
  • Restrictions: NYS does not allow notary publics to certified true copies.  We are unable documents requiring legal advise.

Notary Services at GPL

Greenburgh residents can also come to the Clerk’s office in Town Hall located at 177 Hillside Ave, White Plains, NY 10607, with proper identification (NY State Issued), the documents they need notarized and have that service provided for free without making an appointment. Please call the office to ensure she is available. Those documents include affidavits, acknowledgments, and giving oaths. This service is particularly beneficial for individuals requiring notarized documentation, business agreements, or personal matters that does not involve the Town Clerk’s office or the Town of Greenburgh (This service excludes: Notarizing claims against the Town of Greenburgh, items involving real estate transactions, or certification of other legal instruments).

Notary services will be available during regular Town Hall operating hours of 9:00 am – 5:00pm, or by appointment in the evening, on the same days as Town Board Work Sessions and Town Board Meetings ensuring flexibility for residents to access these vital services at their convenience.  Appointments are recommended but walk-ins will also be accommodated based on availability of the Clerk.
