The Shelf is a unique Spanish-language streaming service, exclusive to libraries, offering the widest selection of cultural, educational, and entertainment content.

A leader in the Americas, our platform is specifically designed for libraries to enrich and modernize their collections, providing a wide variety of premium content.

The Shelf supports libraries in reaching and better serving their community, while also offering all users access to enjoy the finest Spanish-language productions.

Click CREATE NEW ACCOUNT in the Login section.
Choose your country from the drop-down menu, then enter your library name.
- On a computer, enter Greenburgh Public Library for the Library field.
- On Android or iOS devices, enter Westchester Library System for the Library name field.
Enter your library card number, PIN (typically the last 4 digits of your phone number), first name, last name, and date of birth.
Enter your email address and create a password to use with The Shelf.
Last, agree with terms and conditions.

After your information is verified, you will receive an email stating that your account is active. You can now access theshelf.tv. Remember that you must select your library each time you log in.

Content Types and Ticket Usage

TICKETS are required to view the MOVIES and PERFORMING ARTS contents. When you register, your library will give you 10 free tickets that you can use to view the contents that require them. These tickets will be renewed automatically every month.

You will have unlimited access to all of the other contents on the platform.

Browsing The Shelf

You will find the quick search engine in the upper area of the home page, from which you can also access its advanced version, which includes a wide array of filters to adjust your search.
Next to it, you will find the buttons that will take you to the different sections.
In the Watchlist section, you will find the contents you have marked with the Watch it later option divided into sections.
Press the user button to access your user area, where you can view your tickets and playback history, as well as log out.
Finally, the language button allows you to change the platform’s language to English or Spanish.

The Sections

Each section contains banners with highlighted content and playlists with titles organized by theme or genre. These playlists show four titles. The SEE MORE button increases the number displayed to eight, while the SEE FULL LIST button displays all the titles in the list.

These are the different sections:

HOME: The home page contains a wide range of contents from all sections. In addition, the genre cloud (image) provides quick access to all most popular genres on The Shelf.
MOVIES: Movies, documentaries, and short films of all times and nationalities, specially curated to be enjoyed in any language and with the highest quality.
SERIES: All-time series, miniseries, serials, and soap operas are housed in this section, updated weekly with new episodes.
PERFORMING ARTS: Here, fans of classic scenarios will find theatre, classical music concerts and children's plays.
KIDS: The Shelf provides a safe, parental-controlled environment where you can find animated series and video games with high educational and developmental content for children.

User rating, duration, quality, and age rating.
If this icon appears, the content consumes ONE ticket.
Play the content: If it consumes a ticket, you will be notified of the loan's duration.
Add the content to your Watchlist.

Genres and topics: Click on them to discover more available content.

Film Director: Bio filmography and access to all the director’s available titles.
Cast: Access to all available titles.
