Curbside Pickup Service: Curbside Pickup

undefined

Patrons are now able to make appointments to Browse the Children’s Room and the First Floor areas. Walk-Ins will be welcome if space allows. Appointments are also available for computer use. We will continue to offer all other services such as curbside pickup, online reader’s advisoryYouth Services Book Bundles, and live chat with a librarian.

Hold instructions

  • Place a hold onlinePatrons will need their library card number and PIN (usually the last 4 digits of the phone number associated with the library card). For the most comprehensive information, patrons should specify email or text messaging as preferred contact method, if possible. Both are superior to the phone system (which works, but for privacy reasons, leaves a vague message).
  • Place a hold by phone: Patrons can call 914-721-8225 to request Adult materials and 914-721-8227 to request Children's and Teen materials. Leave a message with your request, library card number and contact information for a return phone call.
  • Place a Hold by Chat:  Patrons can use our live chat feature weekdays between 11:00AM and 5:00PM. When live chat is unavailable, you will be able to submit an email message. Make sure you provide your name and contact information along with your request for materials.

Pickup Instructions

  • Patrons will receive a notice when a hold is ready for pickup via the patron's preferred method of contact (phone, text or email).
  • When patrons arrive at the library, they will be instructed to call (914) 721-8204 to let staff  know. Patrons are asked to stay in their car while staff checks out materials and brings them to pickup table.
  • Materials will be placed on the curbside table with patron name on them. We are asking patrons to wait for the staff member to place items on table, and retreat to a safe distance before exiting the car to retrieve materials.
  • Please wear a mask and keep a safe distance from other patrons who may also be picking up items.
  • At this time, returns can be deposited in the book drop bins. All items will be quarantined for at least 96 hours and will remain on the patron library card during this period. No penalizations or fines will accrue on Greenburgh materials during this time. The book drops are always open, so materials can be returned at any time. Greenburgh Library will continue to accept returns from all Westchester libraries.
