Search the Catalog

Click the magnifying glass on any page of the website to access the search feature. Once your subject is entered, a window will open to the Westchester Library System catalog and show the results of your search. (This may take a few seconds)

Search the Westchester Library System’s catalog using a keyword, author, title or subject. Click on the title to see which libraries own the item.

Place Reserves

Materials that are not available at Greenburgh Library may be borrowed from another WLS library. You may place up to 25 holds per card. Express items and Magazines cannot be reserved. Items are held for 8 days on the holds shelf.

To reserve an item, you first need to search the Westchester Library System’s (WLS) catalog. Have your library card handy. After you have found your item, click on the “Place Hold” link and follow the directions to place a reserve.

Borrow Items

You'll need your library card to check out. You can use a digital version through the Westchester Library System app, or an app for loyalty cards, like Keyring or Cardstar. If you don't bring your card, we will ask you for identification and your checkouts may be limited to two items.

You may check out up to 75 items per card.

Greenburgh Library is fine-free. Books, DVDs, CDs, video games, and magazines checked out from Greenburgh Library will not accrue overdue fines. Fines still apply to museum passes, interlibrary loans from outside WLS, and technology like laptops, wifi hotspots, and streaming devices.

Eligible items will be automatically renewed once, for the regular loan period, if there are no holds on the item.

Items will be assumed lost at 30 days overdue. Patrons will be charged the full replacement cost for lost or damaged items. Exact, new replacements for lost or damaged items may be accepted in lieu of payment. Please ask staff for details.

Renew Materials or Review Your Account

Most items checked out from Greenburgh Library are eligible for automatic renewal. When the due date approaches, the system will attempt to renew these items. If you have enabled email notifications, you will receive a message informing you of the renewal attempt and the results.

To review the status of items on your card, or to renew your materials you have checked out, follow the link to log in. Have your library card ready and type in the barcode number and your PIN to gain access to your account. Select "My Account" and you can: 

• renew items (select (click on) the item(s) you wish to renew and then click on the “Renew” button)
• view your holds
• view and pay fines
• Change your PIN or update your email address

Renew Items or Review Your Account by TeleCirc

You can renew or review the status of items you have checked out, as well as determine what you have on hold, from your telephone. Have your library card handy; your PIN will also be required.
