Knitting for Charity

by Eugenie Contrata on 2018-12-23T16:01:25-05:00 | 0 Comments

During the holiday season your thoughts may turn to those less fortunate and what you can do to help. Knitters can provide warm, durable items of clothing and accessories, such as afghans or even clothes for a teddy bear. The Westchester Knitting Guild has an excellent website listing local and national charities interested in receiving knitted or crocheted items.

The Westchester Knitting Guild is a local non-profit organization founded to promote the craft of knitting. We hold monthly programs and occasional workshops, support local fiber organizations and events, participate in charity knitting and provide a means for knitters to network. As of September 2018 the Guild was temporarily holding their monthly meetings at the Mt. Pleasant Public Library. Check their website for updated information on their meeting location.
