Hello,
I am Genie Contrata a librarian at the Greenburgh Public Library and co-manager of the library's Stitchfest program. Laura Burk, of our circulation department, is the other manager of the program and the originator of the Stitchfest Internet presence. But Laura and I would be lost without our faithful volunteer, Doris who lends her 60 years of knitting experience to Stitchfest.
In the coming weeks, Laura and I hope to engage you in our joy of knitting and crocheting. The Stitchfest group that meets in person at the library is a diverse group of women and an occasional man (we would love to have more!). Stitchfesters, as I call them, will be invited to contribute photos of their projects, the stories behind the projects and how they came to this hobby.
The next phase will be communicating with Stitchfesters who can't make it to the library on Thursday afternoons via social media. For now please explore our Sitchfest page and check back frequently for updates.
