It's almost summer and Summer Reading 2021 at the Greenburgh Public Library is right around the corner!  The theme this year is Tails and Tales and the children's librarians are scurrying to plan a "paw-some" summer of fun programs for all. Here is a highlight of some of the events planned.

The Kickoff to Summer Reading Drive-Thru is being held on Thursday, June 17 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm (the rain date is Friday, June 18).   Our drive-thru kickoff event will take place in the library's circle and will feature music, bubbles, giveaways and treats!  It is a chance for patrons to come say hello to the library staff and pick up a bag of goodies without leaving the car. Registration is required to join the fun for this family fun event for children and teens!  There are only a few slots still open, so sign up now!

The Greenburgh Public Library has teamed up with the Greenburgh Nature Center to offer StoryWalk® 2021.  Get outside at the Greenburgh Nature Center and enjoy the book Ruby's Birds written by Mya Thompson and illustrated by Claudia Davila.  A StoryWalk® is an innovative and delightful way for children  to enjoy reading and the outdoors at the same time.  Laminated pages from the children's book are attached to wooden stakes, which are installed along an outdoor path at the Greenburgh Nature Center.  As you stroll down the trail, you are directed to the next page in the story.  Please take a picture and tag us on Instagram at #greenburghpubliclibrary.  Walk, read and have fun! Visit the Greenburgh Nature Center's website for hours and events.

Page Turner Animal Adventures: Virtual Library Program is the Emmy-Award Winning team of Jill Nadler and Kenny Mikey, known for bring stories to life with their comedic approach and is available to watch on your own time. Starting July 6, the Greenburgh Public Library will give patrons access to this Virtual Summer Reading Program geared towards children grades K-3, that includes comedy shows, crafts, recipes, children's book author interviews, guest performers, contests, games and much more.  More information on how to access Page Turner Animal Adventures is coming soon to the Summer Reading 2021 webpage.
