January Library Technology Focus - Greenburgh Public Library Subscriptions!

By now, I'm sure you're familiar with some of our outstanding technology offerings. Greenburgh Library cardholders are entitled to borrow Amazon Fire Sticks (which include subscriptions to Netflix, Disney+, and Acorn TV), laptops, and hotspots as well as access Cloud Library, Tech-Talk, Creativebug, Medici.tv, and Consumer Reports. Resources such as Overdrive/Libby, Hoopla, Kanopy, Tutor.com, and many more can be accessed with membership to any Westchester Library System library.

Let's take a closer look at our eResources that can only be accessed with a GPL card:

Cloud Library is the source for Greenburgh Library cardholders to find popular fiction and nonfiction eBooks and audiobooks. I love Libby but I don't love waiting to read or listen to what I'm looking for and with Cloud Library, those same titles are readily available or have shorter wait times because our Cloud Library subscription is just for Greenburgh Library patrons (not all of WLS cardholders!).

Creativebug gives Greenburgh Library cardholders unlimited access to thousands of online art and craft classes for all ages and skill levels. Watch classes anytime, anywhere. And don't worry, their classes never expire! You can start and stop projects at your own pace. No pressure, just possibilities!       

Tech-Talk is a premier collection of articles and videos created by top training experts for busy professionals and aspiring students. It helps people stay up-to-date in using technology and become better communicators in the workplace. Tech-Talk brings tools and techniques to libraries and other educational organizations so that students, patrons, and members can develop into confident, self-reliant, and tech-savvy non-techies. Users can watch live webinars or listen to the recordings, print out quick reference guides, and earn learning credits that apply for continuing education or professional development! This month Tech-Talk is celebrating "National Clean off Your Desk Day" with webinars and other tools and resources.

Medici.tv provides access to over 2,000 programs (3,000 original works), including live and archived concerts, operas, ballets, documentaries, artist portraits, and educational programs and master classes in English, Français, Español, and Русский.            

                                                                     

The ConsumerReports.org database includes unlimited digital access to ratings and reviews for 8,500+ products and services, plus valuable tools to help you stay safe and informed. This database offers more products and more in-depth comparisons than the traditional paper version.
