Technology Appointments

The Greenburgh Public Library is here to help with your tech needs.
Schedule a personalized, one-on-one technology appointment to get assistance with your laptop, tablet, Kindle, smartphone, or other device.
Whether you need help navigating the library's e-resources or troubleshooting your device, our knowledgeable staff is ready to assist you.

  • Appointment Length: up to 60 minutes.
  • Appointments must be booked at least 2 days in advance.
  • Must have a valid library card from any of the Westchester Library System participating libraries.

Topics We Cover:

  • Computer File Management: Saving, retrieving, and transferring files to external storage
  • eBooks & Audiobooks: Using Library apps (Libby, Hoopla, cloudLibrary)
  • Email: Sending emails, attaching documents, resetting passwords, setting up new accounts
  • Linking Libby with Kindle
  • Magazines: Available through Libby & Hoopla
  • Music & Films: Accessing content on Hoopla and Kanopy
  • Online Learning: Navigating and finding information, skills, and job resources
  • Printing, Copying, Scanning
  • Video Conferencing: Using Zoom, Google Meet, Cisco Webex, and more (on laptops, smartphones, tablets)
  • Word Processing: Formatting, printing, saving, converting files
If you are looking for assistance with Apple devices (iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch, Mac), please request an appointment at the Apple Store (The Westchester, Nanuet, Ridge Hill, The Mall at Bay Plaza, or Greenwich).

The Apple Store offers daily public group sessions, sessions with your own group, or a Genius Bar appointment.

The library can assist patrons with finding or downloading Library resources on their personal devices.

Guidelines

  • Arrive with a clear goal for your session.
  • Bring all necessary credentials for device or account access, along with your device, power cords, and accessories.
  • You may book one appointment at a time, up to one per week.
  • Library staff cannot troubleshoot hardware/software issues, repair devices, or install software/programs.
  • We cannot assist with forms that include personal information (e.g., job applications, tax forms, bank information). We can guide you to relevant sites but will not fill out forms on your behalf.
  • Library staff are not tax professionals, job coaches, or unemployment specialists and cannot provide advice on these topics.
  • Please give at least 24-hour notice if you need to cancel an appointment.
  • Library staff respect your privacy and will handle any personal information with care.
