Make a Difference: Movers for Moms Donation Drive at Greenburgh Public Library

Greenburgh Public Library is proud to support Movers for Moms, a heartfelt initiative by TWO MEN AND A TRUCK that helps moms in need. This annual campaign collects essential items for women and children in local shelters, making Mother’s Day a little brighter for those facing tough times.

Since the 1980s, TWO MEN AND A TRUCK have been dedicated to giving back, and Movers for Moms is a significant part of that mission. Each spring, they team up with businesses, schools, and libraries to collect much-needed donations. Just before Mother’s Day, these items are delivered to local women’s shelters, offering comfort and support when it’s needed most. All donations made at Greenburgh Public Library will go to Hope’s Door, a Hawthorne-based organization that provides shelter, support, and resources for individuals affected by domestic violence. Their mission is to empower survivors to rebuild their lives safely and independently.

Between March 17 and May 5, you can drop off donations in the Lobby of Greenburgh Public Library during our regular hours. Your generosity can bring comfort and hope to a mom in need this Mother’s Day. If you're wondering what to give, here’s what’s most needed:

  • Twin-sized bed sheets + comforters

  • Pillows

  • Neutral, no-pattern towel sets

  • Non-perishable snacks and canned goods

  • Large duffel bags

  • Children’s & adults’ toiletries (shampoo, deodorant, soap, etc.)

  • New packs of children’s + adult t-shirts

  • Cleaning supplies

  • New children’s + adults’ leggings

Please remember: All donated items must be new.

Thank you for being part of this effort to spread kindness and support our neighbors!
