Are you a fan of spine-chilling stories and macabre tales? Does the thrill of turning a page, only to feel a shiver run down your spine, excite you? If so, you're in for a treat! Greenburgh Public Library is thrilled to invite you to join "The Haunted Bookshelf," our bi-monthly horror book club dedicated to exploring the darkest corners of literature.

What Awaits You at "The Haunted Bookshelf"?

Every other month, we gather to dissect a different horror novel—delving into its themes, characters, and the eerie atmosphere that keeps us up at night. Whether you're a lifelong horror enthusiast or just dipping your toes into the genre, you'll find a welcoming and engaging community here. Our discussions are as thrilling as the books themselves, filled with captivating conversations that will leave you pondering long after the meeting ends.

Upcoming Meetings & Selections

Mark your calendars for the following spine-tingling sessions:

  • Wednesday, October 2, 2024, at 7 PM
    Featured Book: The Only Good Indians by Stephen Graham Jones
    A haunting tale that blends horror with sharp social commentary, this book promises to grip you from start to finish. Print copies will be available at the first-floor circulation desk starting August 28.

  • Wednesday, December 4, 2024, at 7 PM
    Featured Book: The Hacienda by Isabel Cañas
    Step into a gothic horror novel set in the aftermath of the Mexican War of Independence. With its chilling atmosphere and suspenseful narrative, "The Hacienda" is a perfect read for the winter season. Print copies will be available starting November 6.

How to Join

Simply register for the book club and show up at Greenburgh Public Library on the scheduled meeting date at 7 PM. Print copies of the selected titles are available at the first-floor circulation desk while supplies last. Prefer reading digitally? You can easily borrow the electronic version directly from the library’s catalog.
