Go on a Virtual Vacation!

If you’re at home and looking for ways to fill up your day, the Greenburgh Library has compiled a list of a few things to try to keep you busy and create a little distraction over the next few weeks. Whether it’s learning about art or exotic animals, the library has you covered!

  • Catch an opera! Each week the Metropolitan Opera will stream an opera a night for free on their site. All streams will start promptly at 7:30 pm each night and remain on their website for the following 20 hours.

  • Visit a museum! Google Arts and Culture teams up with over 2,500 museums from all over the world. You'll be able to travel from France to Mexico without ever leaving the couch.

  • Take a trip to the Zoo! Join the Cincinnati Zoo on a home safari. Each day at 3:00 pm the zoo will be exhibiting a different animal on their Facebook page. Each episode will be in conjunction with an activity that viewers can do at home! If you miss the Facebook Live stream, you can view it later on the zoo’s YouTube channel.

  • Art with an author! Mo Willems is hosting Lunch Doodles with Mo Willems every weekday at 1:00 pm. Join Mo at his studio to write and draw together!

  • Learn to Cook! If you want to learn a new skill or some new recipes, Milk Street Online Cooking School is offering free online classes through April 30th, 2020 (note, after April 30th, there is a fee).

If you’re looking for books, music, movies, music, online learning, and much more, take a look at our eLibrary page. If you have any trouble or need help with a library card, email us at information@greenburghlibrary.org or call us at 914-721-8204 between the hours of 10:00am and 5:30pm Monday through Friday.
