GPL Librarian Recommends Best Places to Read in Greenburgh

by Unknown User on 2018-05-28T10:00:00-04:00 in What To Read | 0 Comments

Hi All!

My name is Nancy and I am a librarian at the Greenburgh Public Library.

I would like to share with you some fascinating, enchanting, and captivating adult fiction for summer reading as well as some of the best places to read outside.

The Greenburgh Public Library is first on my list as a great place to read in the Town but there are plenty of interesting areas within the Town of Greenburgh to bring a library book, a purchase from our Friends Bookstore, or your iPad with your free library ebook.

This is the first in my series of six monthly posts of great reads and great reading spots.  As a finale, at the end of my recommendations, you'll be ask to select your favorite place to read in Greenburgh.

Location Recommendation #1

Ridge Road park is located at 287 Ridge Road in Hartsdale, is a Westchester County-owned park, and is 3.4 miles from the Greenburgh Public Library.  Open seven days a week from 7:30 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. is it an idyllic piece of property in "our backyard."  There was plenty of parking available the day I went to the park.  Keep in mind there are many events where and when parking might be at a premium.

It was a gorgeous spring day when I visited the park.  Sit in the stands by the baseball field? A walk in the woods? With so many choices, I decided to sit at one of the picnic tables with my books, under a big shady tree.

Did you know?

During my research about the park I found out that portions of the park have historical significance because they were constructed and financed by the Works Progress Administration.

I invite you to check out these books at the Greenburgh Public Library for your next trip to Ridge Road Park
