Road Tripping this Summer? Take GPL Along.

Bringing the Greenburgh Library on your summer vacation is easy, free and fun. Load up your mobile devices with digital content from GPL. Before you hit the road, get on that plane, or head for the Anthony Veteran Park pool, set up your reading, listening and viewing favorites.

The library has a wide variety of digital collections to please everyone. Looking for something to read? Go to Cloud Library, Libby - by Overdrive, or Hoopla Digital. Do you want to hear a story on your journey? Then go to RBdigital, Cloud Library, Libby - by Overdrive, or Hoopla Digital.

Want some new tunes, maybe some calming music to help you sleep in a new place? Freegal and Hoopla Digital are the collections for you. Like going to concerts, but can't get tickets?  Watch concert films, without the Youtube ads, on Stringray Qello from RBdigital

Riding in the back seat, but don't want to be a backseat driver? Download a week long pass to Acorn - The Best of British TV or something from the Great Courses via the GPL RBdigital collection. Download magazines, like People, Vanity Fair, New York, Cosmo, etc., using the Flipster app.

Taking the kids along? Set them up with Tumblebooks, a collection of animated books, read-a-long titles, videos from National Geographic, puzzles, games, etc. Tumblebooks is a great alternative to commercial book sites. Hoopla Digital is another place to find animated stories, read-a-long titles, comic books, graphic novels, all appropriate for children via their kids mode option.

Need something for the kids to watch in the back seat on that long car trip? Hoopla Digital has a kid mode of age appropriate movies and television shows. Don't forget Kanopy Kids, movies to stream once you get to grandma's house or checked into your hotel, where wifi is available.

A back to nature, wilderness adventure requires mobile wifi to reach the Internet. The library has that covered too; reserve a mobile hotspot, they are free to borrow for one week.

Planning a staycation? Put the library on your itinerary of places to visit, because we have events planned for everyone. How about a video crafting lesson for kids from Creativebug. Reserve a free museum pass for a local day trip; passes can be booked 60 days in advanced and the supply is very limited, book it early.

Digital content is easy, you can't lose it, break it or return it late. So what's stopping you? I know, it must be that you don't where to start, which app to use, how to sign up for an account, how to browse the collections, etc. No problem, watch the Niche Academy video tutorials on the GPL homepage.  Maybe you don't have a GPL card, I can solve that problem too!  Still confused about using GPL digital content, call me, at 914-721-8232, to set up a 45 minute one-on-one appointment and I'll get you vacation ready.
